Thread: I'm A Horrible AG Mommy.......

Oh my! Where do I begin.......?

I was restoring PM Sam, so I undressed her (shoes and all), and I put her on the counter in the little bathroom right next door to my room. I let her sit there the whole day while I was at school so her hair could dry......

I should have known my cat Curly would see her. Curly always is up on the bathroom counters by the sink. Why? Well ordinary water from her bowl isn't good enough (I swear I saw her drink out of the toilet once though- okay I didn?t SEE her, but there were dirty cat paw prints on the seat!), and sometimes she lays in the sink. I'm serious too, she will hop on the counter and take a nap in the sink!!!

My cat Curly chews a lot too......
So if you haven't guessed what happened by now to PM Sams? foot I?ll tell you??
CURLY CHEWED IT!!!
How can you punish an animal? That?s just it, you can?t! I'm not going to send Sam to the AGH to get a new foot because she's a PM.

I'm shocked, distressed, heartbroken, and just devastated! I can?t believe I was so stupid! How could I NOT see this coming? All that night and still I?ve been avoiding my dolls. I think I?m a horrible AG mommy.

Should my ?Children? be taken away? Right now I think so??

Here are some pictures to prove my point:

The foot still has some bakein soda on it because I haven't had the haert to touch Sam after all of this.

You're not a horrible AG Mommy, but I'm not real fond of Curly right now. I'm really sorry this happened-maybe you could find a spare leg and just replace it. I know a board member was offering "spare parts" a couple of days ago. Good luck.

I'd imagine Prasnlrd, if (when) she finds out, would rather take the cat then you ... the cat did the chewing!

And perhaps this sounds morbid, but you could always buy a beat up PM doll on eBay and use her for parts if the foot really bothers you. (Some people keep part dolls ... I couldn't stand it, myself, it's a little too creepy for my tastes.)

Also, how much baking soda was on the foot? I'd be worried about your cat, I have no idea how good/bad that is for kitties and you don't really know how much she licked off!

I don't beleive bakeing soda is bad for kitties. If they ate a lot of it all at one time they might get a bad stomach ache, but other than that I don't think so.

Plus maybe that's why Sams' foot wasn't chewed up more! The bakeing soda acted like a cat-be-gone sort of thing.

On the bright side, her foot doesn't look that bad. She might not be perfect anymore, but she has a battle wound that makes her yours and, in turn, makes her even more special. Besides, once you slip a shoe on her foot, you're not going to be able to tell.

This isn't the first time Curly has chewed up a doll foot either....

I had a What's Her Face doll, and she chewed her foot up too!!!! That wasn't an AG doll so I wasn't that upset about it.

But it really ticks me off.

I don't think it looks very bad at all; if it were me, I'd take a nail file or emery board and smooth it down a little. Then it probably wouldn't show much at all, even when she's barefoot. I certainly don't think it's worth hunting down a spare PM leg to replace.
I'm sorry this happened, but cats will be cats. My cat likes the sink, too, especially in the summer!

Poor Sam! I argee with the above poster try to file it down a little. Maybe the baking soda with the salty taste protected her a little, do cats like salt??
I guess Samantha could wear her shoes all the time and no one would know.
Have a talk with Curly!

I agree that the foot doesn't look that bad, and I would see what I could do to fix it, like smoothing it out with a nail file.

I don't think you want to send her into the doll hospital, if she's PM. They may not be able to match the skin tone, and will want to replace all the limbs, and then change the head to match the limbs!!

They did this to 2 dolls that I sent in, always calling me first, for permission, of course.
I let them do it, because they were fixer uppers that I was going to sell on Ebay, anyway, and they put new heads on for free.

I agree, don't send Samantha into the hospital. You are not a bad AG mommy at all! Just use a nail file and file it a bit, she'll be just fine!

Now, for a horrific story, if you can stomach it...

When I was 14 I left my Addy and Molly dolls out on a window seat after playing with them that afternoon, not thinking anything of it, I left them around the house all the time...

Well we had a dog that chewed, and so I really shouldn't have left them where the dog could get the dolls...

We went out somewhere, maybe dinner or something, and when we got back Molly and Addy were ... ruined. Molly had her face chewed apart and her wig was in shreds. Her cheek was gone.

Addy was worse. Her whole face was chewed apart, each limb was chewed, she was missing a hand, and her body was torn. As you can imagine I was horrified. These were my babies. My parents were very mad because the dog wasn't learning, and they knew how much AGs cost.

Well they scooted me away from the "crime scene" and sent my girls to the hospital. Addy had to be replaced, there was nothing left to salvage of my original doll...

Molly's head was replaced, but her body remained. There is still a small chew mark on one of Molly's fingers and a tiny hole in her body from the dog. I am okay with that though, because she is my girl! I put some super glue on the body hole so it wouldn't fray, and the finger chew you don't even notice unless you really look.

So I understand your pain.... pets are sometimes horrible!

Good luck with Samantha.

Jessica
